Women's Tennis Defeats Radford On Senior Day, 6-1
More Information: CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina University women’s tennis team came out strong as they earned a 6-1 victory over Big South opponent Radford on Senior Day, Thursday, April 10 at the Billy Nichols Tennis Center.
The Lady Chanticleers stepped it up as they took the doubles point with wins in both the No. 1 and No. 3 slots. Freshman Lexi Bolesky (Lexington, Ohio/Lexington) and senior Amy Pazahanick (Canton, Ga./Brookwood (Georgia Southern)) defeated Ivana Tomaic and Cassandra Price, 8-5 in the No. 1 slot. Senior Sofie Ahlberg (Stockholm, Sweden/Adalsskolan) and sophomore Kim Webb (Usk, Wales/Millfield) won their match at No. 3 doubles, 8-3 over Alexandra Spector and Mirna Matic. In No. 2 doubles, Camila Noldin and Ashton Downs defeated sophomore Maria Camberos (San Luis Potosi, Mexico/Instituto Lomar del Real) and junior Tina Petkova ( (Oakville, Ontario, Canada/St.Ignatius (Toronto)) 8-5.
The Lady Chants lost in No. 3 singles but won at Nos. 1, 2, 4, 5 and 6 to take the victory. Pazahanick defeated Tomaic 6-4, 7-5 in the No. 1 slot while Bolesky earned a 6-0, 6-2 victory over Paige Lindsley in the No. 2 spot. At No. 4 singles, Webb defeated Downs 7-6 (4), 6-2. Ahlberg got the win at No. 5 singles with her 6-4, 6-1 victory over Matic and Camberos defeated Spector 6-4, 6-1 in the No. 6 position. Noldin posted the only Radford point with a win over Petkova, 6-1, 6-3, at No. 3 singles.
CCU travels to High Point on Saturday, April 12. Match time is TBA.
