Women's Tennis Falls to UNC Greensboro
More Information: GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Coastal Carolina women’s tennis team fell to UNC Greensboro 5-1 Sunday, April 6. This now puts the Lady Chanticleers at 11-8 overall this season.
The doubles competition was not held due to inclement weather in the Greensboro area.
In singles play, senior Sofie Ahlberg (Stockholm, Sweden/Adalsskolan) earned the Lady Chants' lone point of the match. She earned the 6-3, 6-0 win over Courtney Akel in the No. 6 spot. Alejandra Guerra defeated senior Amy Pazahanick (Canton, Ga./Brookwood (Georgia Southern)) 7-5, 6-1 in the No. 1 slot. At No. 2 singles, Arielle VonStrolley earned the 6-4, 6-3 victory over freshman Lexi Bolesky (Lexington, Ohio/Lexington), while Britney Cloer defeated junior Tina Petkova (Oakville, Ontario, Canada/St.Ignatius (Toronto)) 6-2, 6-4 in the No. 3 spot. Valerie Behr got the win over sophomore Kim Webb (Usk, Wales/Millfield) 6-4, 6-1 in the No. 4 position. At No. 5 singles, the Spartan’s Erica Zabkar defeated sophomore Maria Camberos (San Luis Potosi, Mexico/Instituto Lomar del Real) 6-3 and 6-1 .
CCU will travel to Charleston Southern on Tuesday, April 8 for at 2:30 p.m.
