RADFORD, Va. The Coastal Carolina University women's tennis team picked up another conference victory against Radford on Sunday, April 1. Coastal won the match 6-1, and improved to 15-4 overall and 5-1 in league play.
CCU swept the doubles point. Hayley Rudman (Johannesburg, South Africa/Northcliff High School (Mississippi State University)) and Amy Pazahanick (Canton, Georgia/Brookwood High School (Georgia Southern University)) took down Daniela Milano and Cassandra Price in the No. 1 spot. At No. 2 Kimberley Webb (Usk, Wales/Millfield School) and Maria Camberos (San Luis Potosi, Mexico/Instituto Lomar del Real) defeated Camila Noldin and Ashton Downs, 8-2 and in the third position Sofie Ahlberg (Stockholm,Sweden/Adalsskolan) and Sarize Coetzee (Bloemfontein, South Africa/Oranje Meisieskool (Texas Tech)) beat Ally Spector and Neely Edwards 8-3.
In singles play, Rudman downed Milano in two sets, 6-1, 6-1 in the first spot. At No. 2 Pazahanick and Noldins match was retired after Noldin took the first set 7-5. Coetzee defeated Downs at No. 3 also in two, 6-0, 6-2.
In the final three positions, Webb beat Price, 6-1, 6-0. At No. 5 Ahlberg downed Spector going 6-0 in both sets. Camberos defeated Iosue in two sets, 6-3, 6-2 in the sixth postion.
