Alicia Robinson Named Big South Freshman of the Week

Charlotte, N.C. - Freshman Alicia Robinson of the Coastal Carolina women’s tennis team was named The Crons Brand Big South Conference Freshman of the Week, the league announced Tuesday. The honor is the first of Robinson’s career. 

Robinson, playing at No. 5, posted two singles wins last week in Coastal’s neutral-site matches in Hilton Head, S.C. In her first singles match, the freshman downed Taylor Todd of Charleston (W.Va.) 6-3, 6-4. Robinson then won a three set match over sophomore Molly Wickman of Pittsburgh 4-6, 6-1, 6-1. 

The Chanticleers, currently 3-1 in Big South play, will have a chance to improve upon their Conference record when they play host to Campbell on Wednesday at the Billy Nichols Tennis Center. The match is set to begin at 2 p.m.
