The Coastal Carolina University women’s tennis team (9-4, 2-0 Big South) swept the University of North Carolina at Asheville 7-0 March 12 in Asheville, N.C.

Coastal dropped only 22 games against the Bulldogs, sweeping both singles and doubles. Junior Petra Jantti (Haukiverkko Espo, Finland) won over Mary Katherine Fitzgerald, 6-1, 6-0. Sophomore Sarize Coetzee (Bloemfontein, South Africa) defeated Lindsay Boykin, 6-0, 6-1 and sophomore Nicole Lemmerer (Bad Mitterndorf, Austria) won at number-six singles 6-0, 6-2 over Rachel Poole.

Seniors Marie Matrka (Wilmington, Ohio) and Virginie Dinh (Maisons Albert, France) won at number-one doubles 8-3 over Natasha Lucki and Rachel Rhoney.

Coastal will host Lafayette Thursday, March 17, at 11 a.m.
