Women’s Tennis Ranked 56th With A 12-0 Season

CONWAY, S.C. – Coastal Carolina’s women’s tennis team (12-0, 2-0) has been ranked 56th in the nation on College Tennis Online, the organization announced Wednesday, March 8. The 56th position is the highest any team from the Big South Conference has been ranked.   The Lady Chanticleers are highlighted by sophomore Amy Pazahanick (Canton, Ga./Brookwood (Georgia Southern) who is 12-0 in singles for the season. Senior Virginie Dinh (Maisons Albert, France/Sophia) and junior Hayley Rudman (Johannesburg, South Africa/Northcliff High School (Mississippi State University) are 10-1 in doubles along side of Petra Jantti (Haukiverkko Espo, Finland/Tapiolan Lukio ) and Pazahanick, who are 10-0 in doubles for the season.   Head coach Jody Davis said, “This ranking is a testament to our team and the dedication of our players. One of our goals this year was to achieve a ranking. We obviously know that the ranking means nothing when you get into competition and that teams on our schedule will be extra motivated to play well against us.”   “Our program has come a long way over the years and credit goes to past players and present players that have worked hard to achieve this recognition for our University. Our primary goal remains unchanged, and that is to win the Big South Conference Tournament next month.”   CCU will host Liberty Saturday, March 11 at 10 a.m.
