Bunea and Fosnacht Earn Big South Weekly Award

CONWAY - Coastal Carolina senior Miki Bunea has been selected as the Big South Conference Choice Hotels Women's Tennis Player of the Week, while teammate Katie Fosnacht has been named The Crons Brand Freshman of the Week for matches played Feb. 27-March 4, announced today by the League office.

Bunea posted wins at both No. 1 doubles and singles in the Chanticleers' 6-1 win over Radford last week. She helped Coastal earn the doubles point as she teamed up with Diana Mortlock to defeat Mia Drobnjak and Taylor Newman, 8-3. Bunea then won her fifth-straight singles match from the No. 1 singles position as she topped Petra Dajevic, 6-4, 7-5.

Fosnacht recorded wins in No. 2 doubles and No. 4 singles to help Coastal top Radford last week. She paired up with Mikaela Kristofersson to defeat Hannah Crawford and Meg Napolitano, 8-6, before topping Gemma Valls in three sets, 6-3, 1-6, 10-7. This is the third time Fosnacht has earned this award this year.

Coastal returns to the courts on Wednesday, March 7 at 1:30 p.m. when they play host to UNC Greensboro.
