Greenville, N.C. – The Coastal Carolina women's tennins team collected their first loss of the season on Friday, Feb. 23 against the Lady Pirates from East Carolina.

East Carolina tallied the doubles point and later secured a 4-3 victory over the Lady Chanticleers. In singles play, the two teams split the six matches with Coastal picking up victories at the No. 1, No. 4, and the No. 6 spot. Hayley Rudman triumphed over Anca Dumitri (6-1, 6-4) at No. 1 and Kimberely Webb took home a victory over Walter (6-2, 6-2). In the No. 6 spot, Maria Camberos over Smith (6-7, 6-2, 6-3) to account for the Chanticleer victories.

ECU improved its mark to 10-5 on the season while the Lady Chanticleers suffered their first loss of the year after opening the campaign with six straight victories.
