CONWAY - Coastal Carolina women's tennis player Katie Fosnacht has been named The Crons Brand Freshman of the Week for matches played Feb. 6-12, announced by the league office today. This marks the second time on this early season that Fosnacht has earned this honor.

Fosnacht posted a 2-0 record last week as the Chanticleers swept Western Carolina, 7-0, on Feb. 11. She paired up with Mikaela Kristofersson in the No. 2 doubles position to top Karen Jimenez and Megan McLinden, 8-2. Fosnacht then beat Jessica Swan at No. 4 singles in straight-sets (6-0, 6-0).

The freshman from Blythewood, S.C., has a 5-1 combined record in her first semester as a collegiate athlete.

The Coastal women's tennis team returns to the courts on Saturday, Feb. 25 to face conference foe Liberty at 10 a.m. at the Billy Nichols Tennis Center.
