CONWAY, S.C.- The Coastal Carolina women's tennis team picked up its first win in the 2007 season after defeating Limestone 7-0. Senior Hayley Rudman (Johannesburg, South Africa/Northcliff High School (Mississippi State University)) picked up a win at both number one doubles and singles. In Singles action, Rudman defeated Alexandra Gade 6-1, 6-1, in number two slot, freshman Kimberely Webb (Milford School) defeated Jennifer Snaider to get her first victory in a Coastal uniform, 7-5, 7-6 (5) and in the three hole, Amy Pazahanick (Canton, Georgia/Brookwood High School (Georgia Southern University)) picked up a win against Melanie Kragl 6-1, 6-0. In number four singles, Sarize Coetzee (Bloemfontein, South Africa/Oranje Meisieskool (Texas Tech)) defeated Lee Crib 6-2, 6-2 while junior Sofie Ahlberg (Stockholm,Sweden/Adalsskolan) beat Jessie Griffin 6-3, 6-2. The last singles victory came from Nicole Lemmerer (Bad Mitterndorf, Austria/Borg Bad Aussee) who took down Nicole Piazza 6-1, 6-1.
In doubles action, the team of Rudman and Pazahanick defeated Grade and Snaider 8-1 and Ahlberg and Coetzee beat Kragl and Cribb 8-3. In number three doubles, Coastal freshmen Tina Petkova and Maria Comberos (San Luis Potosi, Mexico/Instituto Lomar del Real) defeated Limestone's Piazza and Griffin, 8-2.
The Lady Chanticleers are back in actual tomorrow for their dual meet against Gardner-Webb (10 a.m.) and Winston-Salem State (2 p.m.)
