Women's Tennis Wins First Two Home Matches

CONWAY, S.C. – Coastal Carolina’s women’s tennis team (2-0) had two victories Saturday, Feb. 4. The Lady Chanticleers opened with a 5-0 win over Savannah State and followed that with a 7-0 win against Newberry.   During the Savannah State match, Coastal was highlighted by junior Hayley Rudman, seniors Petra Jantti and Rosemary Younger, and sophomore Amy Pazahanick, who won their singles matches 6-0, 6-0. Virginie Dinh defeated Neikelle Lashley 6-0, 6-1.   During the Newberry match, all three doubles matches were won 8-0. Rudman also defeated Isabel Kreidler 6-4, 6-1 in singles competition. Sarize Coetzee defeated Bethany Poppe 6-1, 6-0 and teamed with Sofie Ahlberg to win a 8-0 doubles match. Ahlberg defeated Chanelle Clare 6-0, 6-0 in singles.   The Lady Chants travel to the College of Charleston Wed. Feb. 11 for a 2 p.m. match.
