Women's Tennis Picked Second in Preseason Poll

CHARLOTTLE, N.C. – The Coastal Carolina University women's tennis team was selected to finish second in the annual Big South Conference preseason poll, as voted on by the league's head coaches and sports information directors. The defending league champion Lady Chanticleers received 78 points and four first-place votes in the poll.

 

Winthrop was tabbed as the preseason favorite with 93 points (nine first-place). Charleston Southern was picked to finish third followed by Liberty (one first-place vote), High Point, Radford and UNC Asheville.

 

CCU captured its second Big South Championship and earned a trip to the NCAA Tournament last season. The Lady Chants finished with a 20-6 record, marking the second consecutive year Coastal reached the 20 win plateau.
