Coastal Completes Day One of College of Charleston Invitational

Charleston, S.C. - The Coastal Carolina women’s tennis team won five of its eight singles matches on the first day of the College of Charleston Invitational. 

In the A1 singles flight, Libby Scott bested Stetson’s Diana Bukajeva 6-4, 6-4.

In the A2 singles flight, Coastal picked up two wins from Romane Delay and Honami Yazawa. Delay downed College of Charleston’s Jenny Falcone in a marathon match, 2-6, 6-3, 11-9. Yazawa followed up with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Davidson’s Nisha Crouser. 

In the B2 singles flight, Amanda Malatek advanced via injury, and Marie Babayan won 6-3, 6-1 over Stetson’s Stauffer MacDowell. 

The College of Charleston Invitational will continue with second-day action on Saturday.
