BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Coastal Carolina outlasted the Fighting Camels of Campbell 4-3, Tuesday afternoon at the Nisbet Tennis Center.

"I am so proud of these girls," said head coach Catherine Hewitt. "Every girl battled all day long in the heat and a very hostile environment. With not having Kristofferson in the line up, the rest of the girls did a great job to step up and clinch the match. I couldn't be more pleased with their effort and determination."

After Campbell won two of three doubles matches Coastal would win four of the first five singles matches to clinch the match. Five of the singles matches would go into three sets with the decisive match won by Amanda Malatek at the No. 6 position.

Coastal Carolina improves to 11-1 on the year while pushing its conference record to 4-0. Campbell is 9-3 and 1-2 in the Big South.

The Chants play host to Cornell on Friday, March 23. Match time is set for 2 p.m. at the Billy Nichols Tennis Center.
