CONWAY - Coastal Carolina stepped out of the conference to defeat Wofford College 5-2 on Sunday afternoon at the Billy Nichols Tennis Center.

The Chanticleers remain unbeaten (5-0) while Wofford drops to 3-4.

Coastal swept the doubles matches to earn the first point of the day. Following the doubles sweep, Miki Bunea defeated Sarah Evans in straight sets (6-1, 6-1) to take a 2-0 lead. Playing in the No. 6 position, Amanda Malatek defeated Samantha Sullivan 6-3, 6-2 followed by a 6-4, 6-2 win by Mikaela Kristofersson to clinch the match.

Diana Mortlock gave Coastal its fifth point in a 6-1, 7-6 (5) win over Julia Paulson. Guinn Garcia and Othilia Lindqvist won the lone matches for Wofford.

Coastal returns to the courts on Friday, March 2 at 2 p.m. when they host Radford (4-2) in Conway.
