Final Stats

WILMINGTON, N.C. - The Coastal Carolina beach volleyball team narrowly lost to College of Charleston, 3-2, Sunday morning in the Chants' final match of the UNCW Beach Bash.

Coastal (1-7) held a brief 2-1 advantage in the match before College of Charleston (8-4) claimed the final two points and sealed the win.

CofC's fourth pairing of Devon Rachel and Allison Beckman opened the match with a straight-sets win over Autumn Otto and Mika Mierzwa.

Iva Mandic and Kate Federico evened the match on the fifth court with a 17-21, 21-19, 15-13 win over Taylor Foley and Lauren Freed.

Coastal then grabbed the lead with a point on the first court, courtesy of Natasa Savovic and Tahleia Bishop.

The match was tied for a final time when Riana Brennan and Kennedy Madison took the No. 3 point, and the Cougars completed the comeback on the second court, where Krissy Mummey and McKala Rhodes outlasted Aleksandra Djuric and Carla Cahill in the third set.

Coastal returns to action next weekend for a tournament at Stetson on Friday and Saturday. The Chants play a pair of matches against both the host school and Florida Gulf Coast.
