CONWAY - The Coastal softball team will be hosting a skills camp for players ages 14 and up on Sunday, Nov. 6 at the Coastal Carolina softball field. Individual sessions are $49, two sessions are $79 and all three sessions are $99.

The first of the three sessions focuses on fielding and runs from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Beginner and advanced skills will be held depending on player skill level. Players will be separated by position and have the opportunity to learn up to two different positions, if desired.

Offense and hitting will take place during the second session from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Swing mechanics, bunting and base running will be covered during this session. Pitching is the focus of the third session from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The beginning pitcher will learn the proper pitching mechanics. Intermediate and advanced pitchers will focus on ways to increase speed, as well as develop and improve movement pitches such as the drop, curve, rise and screwball. Ways to throw a deceptive change-up will also be covered. All pitchers must provide their own catcher for the session.

Camp check-in takes place 30 minutes prior to the start of the session. Each player must bring the camp waiver form, as well as her own softball equipment: glove, bat, cleats, helmet and any other equipment they feel necessary to compete. Meals are not included; players are encouraged to bring their own snacks.

Camp/clinic credits will be offered for cancellations made at least 14 days prior to the camp/clinic date. Any time after that date, camp/clinic credits are made for medical reasons only and a signed statement from your physician must accompany the written request. Refunds will not be guaranteed.
