CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina University softball team took a break from its fall practice on Saturday, Sept. 18 to help the community by cleaning up trash along the Waccamaw River.  

The service project was called the “River Sweep” and consisted of picking up trash for two hours along the river bank.  In addition to walking around the banks, some of the team members were also transported by boat to various spots along the river in Conway to pick up trash.  

The Chanticleers open their fall season with a doubleheader at UNC Wilmington on Saturday, Sept. 25.
