CHARLOTTE, N.C. - A total of 18 former Coastal Carolina University student-athletes were named to the Big South Conference's All-Decade Softball Teams, and Jess Dannelly earned the coaching honor for two different decades, the conference announced on Wednesday. Part of the Big South's 30th anniversary celebration, the all-decade teams were determined by conference administrators and fan voting.

Coastal's 18 player selections and 20 overall honors were the most of any program, with Winthrop coming in second with 12 players and one coach. Five Chanticleers earned All-Decade honors for 1987-89, seven were named to the 1990s team and six were selected for the 2000s.

Dannelly is the All-Decade coach for both the 1990s and 2000s. The Hall of Famer notched 624 of his 669 career victories during those two decades, while winning a combined five conference championships and collecting six Coach of the Year awards. In the 1990s, Dannelly posted a 350-227 overall record, including 105-46 in Big South play. He led the Chanticleers to conference championships in 1992, 1998, 2000, 2001 and 2006 and NCAA Regionals in the last four of those five years.

All seven Coastal players selected for the 1990s are members of the CCU Hall of Fame and five are in the Big South Hall of Fame, led by two-time Player of the Year (1992 and 1993) Michelle Hall. The pitcher who holds the Big South records for wins (104), complete games, saves and innings pitched, along with the school record for strikeouts (738), was a four-time all-conference pick and a Big South Tournament MVP (1992). Hall is joined on the 1990s team by utility player Jessica Falca, infielders Michelle Minton, Sara Graziano, Kacee Crumpacker and Sherry Johnson, and outfielder Cari Rowe.

Falca, a four-time all-conference selection and Rookie of the Year winner (1996), is the conference's all-time leader in hits (341) and stolen bases (196), ranks second in runs scored (193) and third all-time in batting. Minton, who also earned all-conference honors four times, holds the Big South runs record with 194 and is second in batting and hits. Graziano, a two-time all-conference pick and Player of the Year winner (1994) during her two seasons as a Chanticleer, holds the NCAA record for season average (.589 in 1994) and the Big South marks for career batting (.522), and single-season RBIs (84) and hits (103). Crumpacker, who ranks third in program history in hits and RBIs, was a three-time all-conference selection and Big South Tournament MVP (1998), while Johnson is a two-time all-conference pick and holds the league records for RBIs (194) and doubles (76). Rowe earned all-conference honors three times and is fourth on the CCU list for doubles and sixth for RBIs.

Designated player Meagen Johnson leads the six Chants on the 2000s team, four of whom are in the University's Hall of Fame. Johnson holds the school's single-season home run record of 20, set in 2006 when she earned All-American honors and was named Big South Player of the Year. She was named all-conference in both of her seasons at Coastal. Joining her on the All-Decade squad are utility player Holly Lee, infielders Sarah Lockett and Sara Hostetler, outfielder Kimberly Josephson and pitcher Christine Doyle.

Lee was the school's career home run leader until her total of 44 was surpassed by Kory Hayden in April. Lee was a four-time all-conference pick, Big South Player of the Year (2003) and Rookie of the Year (2000) and also ranks second in program history in career RBIs. Lockett, who ranks third on Coastal's home run list (37), earned all-conference honors three times along with being named both Player of the Year and Big South Tournament MVP in 2001. Hostetler and Josephson were both three-time all-conference members, while Doyle was a two-time selection along with earning both Rookie of the Year (2003) and Big South Tournament MVP honors (2006).

Infielders Susette Stone and Linda Richards, pitchers Carol Buczek and Joy Owens, and outfielder Tina Williamson represent Coastal on the team for 1987-89. Stone earned all-conference honors twice in those three seasons, while Richards, Buczek, Owens and Willamson were selected once.
