Softball's Long-Droppert Named All-Tournament

ROCK HILL, S.C. -- Coastal Carolina softball junior Verity Long-Droppert (Claremont, Australia/Shenton (Western Australia)) was named to the 2008 Big South Conference All-Tournament Team, it was announced following the conclusion of the Big South Tournament.

Long-Droppert started in all four of Coastal's games, going 3-for-9 from the plate with a .333 batting average. Two of Long-Droppert's hits were multi-run home runs. She smacked a game-winning, three run shot in the 3-1 victory over sixth-seeded Charleston Southern Thursday, May 8 and then added a two-run blast that fell just beyond the right center wall in the 5-3 loss to second-seeded Radford later on Thursday. Defensively, Long-Droppert started all four games at second base She registered a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage, 17 putouts and 10 assists.
