Johnson had a great game against the Liberty Flames as she went 2-for-2 with two walks, two RBI, two runs scored and two home runs. Johnson has perfect batting average for the week to go along with a 4.000 slugging percentage. Johnson's two home runs allowed her to set CCU's all-time single season home run record at 17. Johnson's first home run of the afternoon was a dramatic solo blast that doubled Coastal's lead while her second home run gave the Lady Chanticleers an insurance run in the sixth in an important 5-0 victory over the Flames.
This is the third time that Johnson has been named the Player of the Week. Overall it's the eighth time this year that a Coastal softball player has been honored by the league office for her accomplishments on the field.
Coastal's softball team next takes the field later this afternoon in a doubleheader against Winthrop starting at 3 p.m.
