Softball Downed By Ohio State 3-0 on the First Day of Crimson Classic

TUSCALOOSA, ALA. Coastal Carolinas womens softball team (1-10) were downed by Ohio State (7-8) in the second game of the first day of the Crimson Classic on Friday, March 3.
Ohio State took the early lead in the bottom of the first inning, as Chelsea Baker reach on a fielder choice, stole second and went to third on an error, before stealing home for the first tally of the afternoon.
Senior Kelly Feely (Livermore, Calif./Granada) doubled with two out in the second for CCUs lone hit of the afternoon, but was stranded as the next CCU batter, freshman Brittany Birnbaum (Chino Hills, Calif./Ayala), lined out to pitcher.
Ohio State added two runs to its lead in the fifth inning. The big hit was a one out RBI single from Baker that plated junior Nycole Koyano.
Redshirt junior Christine Doyle (Rio Rico, Ariz./Immaculate Heart Academy NJ) (0-3) took the loss for Coastal. Buckeye righthander Jamee Juarez evened her record at 5-5 on the year with the win.
CCU continues its play in the Crimson Classic at it takes on #6 Alabama at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 4 before beginning bracket play later that afternoon.
