Softball's Cantrell Out At Least Six Weeks

CONWAY, S.C. -- Coastal Carolina softball senior Allison Cantrell (McDonough, Ga./Eagle's Landing) will be out at least six weeks due to a broken bone in her hand suffered during the final out of CCU's 7-6 win over Elon Sunday, Feb. 17.

The only senior on CCU's team, Cantrell led the team with a .344 batting average through the Lady Chanticleers' first 10 games of the season. She had 11 hits in 32 at-bats, with two doubles and one home run. Last weekend, Cantrell led Coastal with a .500 hitting percentage, going 6-for-12 from the plate.

The Lady Chants return to action this weekend with a three-game series against Hampton at the CCU Softball Field. The series begins with a doubleheader Saturday, Feb. 23 at 2 p.m.
