Chants Offense Shines On Day 3 Of The Battle At The Beach

The Chanticleers used a four-run second inning to pull away from the UConn Huskies as senior Timi Tooley started off the Coastal rally with a single to left field and to come around to score later in the inning off a grand slam home run by Courtney Dean.
The freshman connected again for the second time when in the bottom of the fifth she blasted an opposite-field home run over the right-field fence.
That was all the offense that junior pitcher Ashley Guillette would need for her fifth win of the season as she allowed just four hits over seven innings.
Freshman Taylor Sweigart also added her third homer of the season in the top of the fifth.
After picking up two quick runs in the bottom of the first inning against Robert Morris, Coastal roared back in the bottom of the second inning with five more runs as freshman Stavi Augur singled in senior Kailey Mellen and then two batters later Tooley doubled to right center for two more Chant runs. Sophomore Mackenzie Budinger came through with another big hit when she doubled in Tooley and freshman Samantha Sack.
