TAMPA, Fla. - The Coastal Carolina softball team fell to 12th-ranked USF 5-1 Sunday afternoon in the consolation game of the USF 4 Team Tournament.
The Chanticleers drop to 2-8, while the Bulls bounce back from two straight losses and improve to 6-3.
Paige Goldsack drove in the lone Coastal run on an RBI single with the bases loaded in the top of the sixth inning. Bri Chiusano reached on third-strike passed ball leading off the sixth and Kiana Quolas lined a hard single off the third baseman's glove for the Chants' first hit of the game. After Cacia Pierre walked to load the bases, Goldsack singled to left field for her fourth career RBI. Chiusano scored her team-high seventh run.
Lindsey Richardson (3-1) notched the victory, allowing one hit, striking out 10 and walking three in 5 1-3 innings. Quolas (1-4) allowed five runs on 10 hits in 4 1-3 innings. She struck out one and walked one.
