CONWAY - Coastal Carolina senior Anna Lowe has received another scholar-athlete honor as she was named to the College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-District Team.

Lowe was selected to the Division I first team for District 4, which includes players from Division I institutions in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and Puerto Rico. As a first team member, Lowe will now be on the ballot for CoSIDA's 2012-13 Capital One Academic All-America Team and can become the first Coastal women's soccer player to be named a CoSIDA All-American since Ashleigh Gunning and Emily McColl in 2008.

Lowe joins Gunning, McColl, Kristina Fisher (2005) and Colleen Schohl (2010) as Coastal representatives on CoSIDA's all-district first team.

A marine science major with a 3.973 GPA, Lowe was recently selected to the Big South Conference's all-academic team. She has been named to the President's List twice and Dean's List once since transferring to Coastal in the fall of 2011. She was also named on the 2011-12 Big South Presidential Honor Roll and earned Mountain West Conference all-academic team honors as a freshman at Air Force in 2009.

Seeing her first action as a Chanticleer this year, Lowe helped the Chants to their seventh double-digit victory season, playing in all 19 games and making 15 starts. While playing primarily in the midfield, she also spent time as a defender and a forward, and scored the game-winning goals against Francis Marion and Elon.
