CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Coastal Carolina women's soccer team members Kacey Kelley, Fia Jonsson, Cami Skladany and Anna Lowe were honored by the Big South Conference as part of its 2012 season awards, which the league announced on Thursday.

Kelley was selected to the Big South all-conference first team, while Jonsson was tabbed the Big South Freshman of the Year and named to the all-conference second team, along with Skladany. In addition, Lowe was named to the all-academic team.

Kelley was named a first team forward after a sophomore season in which she scored a team-high nine goals and dished out one assist. The Ashburn, Va., native played in 16 games and led the Chanticleers with 19 points, 67 shots and 35 shots on goal. Kelley finished the regular season ranked third in the Big South in goals per game and shots per game and was fifth in points per game. Kelley's nine goals scored are tied for 10th on the school's single-season list, while the 67 shots were the seventh most in program history. She tallied three game-winning goals, including a two-goal performance against the Citadel, for which she earned Big South Attacking Player of the Week honors. She found the back of the net in four straight games during the team's five-game win streak in October. Kelley was also selected to the College Sports Madness Big South Second Team.

Jonsson is the third Coastal player to be named Freshman of the Year, joining Marisa Kovacs in 2000 and Blair Monroe in 2005. She collected eight first-place votes from the panel of head coaches. The midfielder from Nykoping, Sweden, started all 19 games for the Chants, scoring six goals and dishing out a team-best five assists. She was second on the team with 17 points and 39 shots and scored four goals in the team's final four games of the regular season, including two against Presbyterian. Jonsson ranked tied for seventh in the conference in assists and tied for eighth in goals during the regular season.

Skladany was named to the all-conference second team as a defender after starting all 19 games during her senior season, completing a four-year career in which she played in every one of the team's 79 games. With Skladany anchoring the backline, the Chanticleers allowed just 20 goals, the fewest in program history, and recorded eight shutouts, the second most for a season. The native of Westerville, Ohio, garnered her second career Big South Defender of the Week honor last month after the team notched back-to-back shutouts, and was also named to the College Sports Madness Big South First Team.

Lowe earned all-academic team honors while holding a 3.973 GPA as a marine science major. Since transferring to Coastal in the fall of 2011, Lowe has been named to the President's list twice and the Dean's list once, while also being selected to the 2011-12 Big South Presidential Honor Roll. The senior midfielder from Littleton, Colo., returned from an injury last year to play in all 19 games this season, starting 15 of them. She scored the game-winning goal in each of the team's first two victories and played a key role in the team's defensive success.

Kelley became the 23rd Coastal player to be named All-Big South first team, with 21 Chants now having been second team selections.
