Hajek Earns Big South Women's Soccer Player of the Week Accolades

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Coastal Carolina women’s soccer senior Mary Jo Hajek was named the Choice Hotels Big South Women’s Soccer Player of the Week for her performance during the week ending Oct. 26. This is the second weekly honor that CCU women’s soccer has earned this season.

Hajek had a hand in both of CCU’s conference victories last week, assisting on the game-winner against defending Big South champion Radford, Friday, and helping lead the team to its best record in program history. She then netted the game-winner against High Point on Sunday, pushing the Lady Chants to their best conference record in history and first place in the Big South. The senior from Doylestown, Ohio, has two goals and two assists on the season.

Coastal women’s soccer plays its last regular season match of 2003 this Saturday, Nov. 1, at Charleston Southern at 3 p.m. With a victory, CCU will clinch the Big South regular season conference title and earn a number one seed in the conference tournament.
