CONWAY - The Coastal Carolina women's soccer team will return to the road to take on UNC Asheville on Thursday, Oct. 13 after playing their past two contests at home.  The matinee match time is set for 3 p.m.

The Chanticleers enter the game coming off the team's first victory of the season as they defeated VMI, 3-0, in dominating fashion on Oct. 8.  Morgan Thomas (penalty kick), Hannah Brown (rebound in box) and Cami Skladany (header off a corner kick) each recorded their first goal of the season in the contest.  Additionally, on the defensive end of the field the Chants allowed the Keydets to only attempt two shots in the game as Coastal recorded its first clean sheet of the season.

The Chants have held two of its four conference opponents below their season scoring averages and three of four below their shots per game averages.  Coastal held the prolific Radford attack that averages 14.3 shot per game to only seven shots, with four coming from distance.  The Chants then held the VMI offensive attack without a shot on goal.

Coastal holds an 8-2-1 all-time series edge against Asheville, including a 3-2 record at the Bulldogs' Greenwood Soccer Field.  Coastal scored four goals on the Bulldogs in the sides' 2010 meeting to help improve the Chants edge in goals to 21-11.

Asheville enters the game with a 2-2 mark in Big South matches after playing to a 1-8 non-conference record.  The Bulldogs average 1.23 goals per contest; however, their 2.85 goals against average ranks last in the Big South.  Asheville has tallied a league leading 198 shots on the season.

The Bulldog attack is lead by Kaitlyn Eckert's five goals, ranking her tied for seventh in the Big South.  Goalkeeper Heather Muller ranks 29th in the NCAA with a league leading 79 saves.
