CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Sophomore forward Kacey Kelley has received a second honor for her performance in last week's win over The Citadel as she was named the Big South Conference Attacking Player of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday.

Kelley, who was selected the Big South Player of the Week by CollegeSportsMadness.com on Monday, is the first Chanticleer to earn weekly honors from the conference since Cami Skladany won the defensive award on August 30, 2011. The last Chant to receive the attacking award was Anna Tupy in October of 2010.

Returning to the lineup after missing two games, Kelley notched her first career multi-goal game with a pair of second-half tallies that sparked Coastal to the 3-0 victory. The Asbburn, Va. native put the Chants on the board in the 50th minute, made it 2-0 in the 70th minute and finished the game with team-highs of six shots and three shots on goal.

Kelley now has five career goals, including a team-leading three this season. She is also tops on the squad with 11 shots and tied for first in shots on goal with four.

The Chants (3-3-0) are back in action on Thursday, Sept. 13 as they host UNC Wilmington for their final nonconference game. Kickoff is at 6 p.m. at the CCU Soccer Field.
