Women's Soccer Loses at Wofford

CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina women’s soccer team gave up a goal in the 88th minute of play Tuesday as it was defeated, 1-0, by Wofford. The Lady Chants drop to 4-2 overall, and the Terriers move to 2-1-1.

Although Coastal outshot Wofford 22-11 (10-6 shots on goal), they were unable to net a goal or stop Abby Anderson as she recorded the game-winner off an assist from Jessica Connett with 2:30 remaining on the clock.

Senior goalkeeper Candice Doten grabbed five saves in the match, while Wofford keeper Austin Somers tallied 10 of her own. Next up for the Lady Chants is what looks to be their toughest match of the season as they travel to Columbus to take on 15th-ranked Ohio State, Sunday at 2 p.m.
