Women's Soccer's McColl Named Big South Player of the Week

, N.C. – Coastal Carolina senior Emily McColl (Wellington, New Zealand) has been selected as the Big South Conference Choice Hotels Women’s Soccer Player of the Week for games played Aug. 25-31, it was announced today by the League office. 
 McColl had a remarkable showing last week, helping the Chanticleers to their first win of the season in game four of the Select Kickoff Classic in Greenville, S.C.  The senior scored in the eighth and 69th minutes as Coastal Carolina defeated Wofford, 2-0.  McColl’s first goal came off an attempted clear by Wofford on a Coastal Carolina corner kick.  The final goal was a 30-yard chip over the Terriers' goalie.  McColl, who now has eight goals in her Coastal career, also was named to the 11-member All-Tournament Team.
Also nominated for women’s soccer Player of the Week for Week 2:  Karen Blocker (Liberty), Justine Dugger (Radford), Andrea Ritchie (High Point), Chelsea White (Winthrop) and Abby Young (Presbyterian).
