Women's Soccer to Host Temple in Exhibition Match on Saturday

The 2010 edition of the Coastal Carolina women's soccer team will make their first appearance on Saturday, August 14 as they play host to the Owls of Temple University in an exhibition match slated for Noon at the Coastal Carolina Soccer Field.

CONWAY, S.C.- The 2010 edition of the Coastal Carolina women's soccer team will make its first appearance on Saturday, August 14, hosting to the Owls of Temple University in an exhibition match slated for Noon at the Coastal Carolina Soccer Field.

This will be the debut of head coach Tammy DeCesare's squad, who is embarking on her first year at the helm of the program.

The Chanticleers return 12 letterwinners and five starters from last season's team that finished fourth in the Big South Conference with a 5-3-1 conference record. Top returners for the Chants include first team All-Big South Conference selection Anna Tupy who recorded five goals and four assists last season as well as Sara Niles who also notched three assists. In addition, senior goalkeeper Amy Haggard (5 shutouts, 1.13 GAA) and sophomore defender Maggie McGavin will be relied on to lead the team.

The Chanticleers will play their first regular season game on Saturday, August 21 when they travel to Lexington, Ky., to take on SEC foe Kentucky Wildcats.
