2013 Women's Soccer Schedule Announced

The Chanticleers are slated for eight home matches this season and will host the Big South Championship

CONWAY - Coastal Carolina women's soccer head coach Paul Hoganhas announced the schedule for his third season at the helm of the Chanticleers. The challenging slate features eight home matches and clashes with regional rivals Davidson, Wofford, USC Upstate, VCU and UNC Wilmington.

The Chanticleers will host East Carolina on Aug. 16 in an exhibition match before embarking on the regular season of play a week later as hosts to Southern Conference member Elon (Aug. 23).

Five straight games away from Conway are next for the Chants as the team travels to Davidson (Aug. 25), Wofford (Aug. 30) and USC Upstate (Sept.1). The team closes the five-game road trip at the College of Charleston Cup where they are slated to face Kent State (Sept. 6) and VCU (Sept. 8).

Coastal returns to the CCU Soccer Field on Sept. 13 to face UAB before returning to the road for its final non-conference match at UNC Wilmington (Sept. 19).

The Chants open Big South play on Sept. 25 at Longwood before hosting VMI (Sept. 27) and Gardner-Webb (Oct. 2). Another set of back-to-back road games are next on deck as the team travels to High Point (Oct. 5) and Presbyterian College (Oct. 9).

Coastal plays four of its final six games at home starting on Oct. 11 against Winthrop. A mid-week trip to Campbell (Oct. 16) precedes home matches against UNC Asheville (Oct. 19) and Radford (Oct. 23). A trip north to Liberty (Oct. 26) closes the Chants' away slate. The Chanticleers close the regular season at home against Lowcountry rival Charleston Southern on Oct. 29.

The Big South Conference Tournament starts on Nov. 2 at the campus sites of the top four seeds. For the second time in program history and first since 2006, the Chanticleers will host the final two rounds of the tournament, culminating in the championship game on Nov. 10.

The NCAA Tournament starts on Nov. 15 with the first four rounds hosted at campus sites. The Women's College Cup will take place December 6 & 8 in Cary, N.C., and will be hosted at WakeMed Soccer Park.
