Hogan Announces 2011 Women's Soccer Schedule

CONWAY - Women's soccer head coach Paul Hogan has announced the fall schedule for his inaugural season at the helm of the Chanticleers. The challenging 2011 slate of games features nine Big South Conference clashes and seven home games at Coastal Carolina Soccer Field.

The team will pack up and head south to kick off the season at the North Florida Tournament in Jacksonville, Fla. where the Chants will meet Jacksonville University (Aug. 19) and the host Ospreys (Aug. 21).

Hogan will then make his head coaching debut in front of the home fans on Aug. 27 as Coastal plays host to Southern Conference member Georgia Southern.

Coastal will then return to the road to play Valparaiso (Sept. 2) and Brown (Sept. 4) at the Liberty Invitational in Lynchburg, Va. The following weekend, Coastal makes the short trip to Patriots Point to compete in the College of Charleston Tournament where matches with Colonial Athletic Association member Old Dominion (Sept. 9) and Big East member Cincinnati (Sept. 11) await the Chanticleers.

The Chants will then travel to Tennessee (Sept. 16) to take on the programs second ever Southeastern Conference opponent before returning home to cap the non-conference portion of the season with Florida Tech (Sept. 25).

For the third time in four years the Chanticleers will open its Big South Conference slate on the road. First up will be a trip north to Liberty (Sept. 29) followed by a match at reigning Big South champion High Point (Oct. 1). The team will then come home for a weekend homestand against Radford (Oct. 6) and VMI (Oct. 8). Coastal then travels to UNC Asheville on Oct. 13 and Presbyterian College Oct. 15 to complete its last multi-game road swing.

The Chanticleers will play three of its final four contests in the friendly confines of Coastal Carolina Soccer Field for the first time since 2008 starting with Charleston Southern (Oct. 18). A quick trip to Campbell (Oct. 20) waits before the Chants close out the regular season with home matches with Winthop (Oct. 27) and Gardner-Webb (Oct. 29).

The 2011 Big South Conference Championship will be hosted by Charleston Southern and contested at Blackbaud Stadium, home of the Charleston Battery of the United Soccer League. First round action will kick off on Nov. 3 with the Championship game contested on Nov. 6.

The 2011 NCAA Women's College Cup will be hosted by Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Ga., on December 2 and 4.
