The Coastal Carolina University womens soccer program and head coach Rohan Naraine have announced the hiring of Tracey Leipold as the Lady Chanticleers new assistant coach.Leipold has head coaching experience, as she led the Lees-McRae womens soccer team from 2001-05. She also was an athletic counselor at the college during that time. Leipold was an assistant at Lees-McRae from 1997-2001 which included coaching the goalkeepers for the Lady Bobcats.
Leipold spent the last year at The Sport Source, Inc., in Plano, Texas, where she was a combine coordinator and college planner.
Leipold did her undergraduate work at LeMoyne College in Syracuse, N.Y., where she was a four-year starting goalkeeper for the Dolphins from 1991-94. She also earned her Bachelor of Science degree in psychology. Leipold earned a Masters of Arts degree in school counseling from Appalachian State University in 2001.
"Ive known Tracey since I coached at Coker College and she was at Lees-McRae," Naraine said. "She brings a great deal of experience being a head coach and an assistant. I think we will work well together and Im excited to have her here."
Coastal opens the 2006 womens soccer schedule Friday, Aug. 25 by hosting West Georgia at 7 p.m.
