Coastal Carolina women's head soccer coach Paul Hogan announced his 2017 schedule that includes 19 regular-season matches, including 10 at home.

The Chanticleers start their 18th year as a program with an exhibition with High Point on Aug. 11 before opening the regular season on Aug. 18 at Wofford, followed by matches at Charleston and NC State, a team that reached the NCAA Sweet 16 last season.

"We have a very balanced schedule with some tough early games on the road at College of Charleston and NC State," Hogan said. "After these games we have home games against former Big South rivals Charleston Southern and Winthrop. We are very excited for the early tests in non-conference play that will prepare us for Sun Belt play."

Coastal will play its home opener on Aug. 27 versus Charleston Southern, one of four consecutive matches at home. Others in the stretch include Winthrop, Davidson and Jacksonville. A trip to Georgia (Sept. 10) snaps the home string. However, CCU returns home to open Sun Belt play with three straight home matches (Georgia Southern, Texas State and Troy.

"Georgia is a traditional power in the SEC, They are very athletic with some very good talent, "Hogan said. "This will be a homecoming of sorts for all of our players who are from Georgia. After that we begin Sun Belt play. The league will be improved and we have new coaches at Troy and South Alabama. Our road games this year will be especially difficult with the quality of opponent and travel involved. "

After road matches at UL Monroe, Louisiana and Little rock, Coastal will play three of its final five matches at home, including Georgia State (Oct. 5), South Alabama (Oct. 15) and South Carolina State (Oct. 19). The Chants conclude the regular season at Appalachian State (Oct. 22).

Once again, the Sun Belt Championship will be played in Foley, Ala., at the Foley Sports Complex. The dates for the Championship are Nov. 1-5.
