Our trip to Costa Rica was a great opportunity to learn about another culture. While seeing all of the poverty and pollution was not easy, it made us realize how lucky we are to live where we do. The natural beauty of Costa Rica though, is incomparable. We got to see beautiful waterfalls, lush mountains, sandy beaches, and bizarre wildlife. On a daily basis we saw mischievous iguanas, little salamanders, and numerous types of birds. It was interesting to play soccer against a different country and see their style of play. While the language barrier was very difficult at times, it was a great opportunity to test out the little Spanish that we know. Costa Rica soccer tours did a wonderful job organizing our trip and we all became especially close with our tour guide, Pablo, who was with us for the entire trip. We all hope to one day come back to Costa Rica and explore the rest of the country that we have not seen yet.
