CONWAY, S.C. - Coastal Carolina University Director of Athletics Hunter Yurachek announced on Thursday morning that head women's soccer coach Rohan Naraine's contract will not be renewed.

"I want to thank Rohan Naraine for his years of dedicated service to Coastal Carolina, both as a head coach and assistant coach," Yurachek said. "He has had many positive accomplishments on and off the field, and dedicated a tremendous amount of hard work and effort to the women's soccer program at Coastal Carolina University.  However after reviewing the entire program and the overall experience of our student-athletes during his tenure, a change in leadership for our women's soccer program was recommended.  We wish Coach Naraine and his family well in their future endeavors."

Naraine had been the head coach for the past four years, posting a 48-29-7 mark and two Big South regular season championships, but was 7-11-3 this season with a loss in the opening round of the 2009 Big South Tournament. Naraine had also been an assistant coach for the Chanticleers during the 2002 and 2005 seasons.

A national search will begin immediately to find a replacement.
