CONWAY - Coastal Carolina women's soccer team got back on the winning track after taking down in-state opponent Charleston Southern, 3-0, Sunday at CCU Soccer Stadium. The win improves Coastal's record to 3-1 and the Buccaneers dropped to 1-3 on the season.

Elisabeth Rockhill scored what proved to be the game-winning and her first career goal in the 10th minute with the assist from Daniella Famili for the early one-to-nil lead.

In the 32nd minute, Famili struck for her own score as she found the back of the net off the feed from Brenna Leftwich.

Not only did Coastal take a 2-0 lead at the break, but the Chanticleers out-shot the Buccaneers seven to three. The second half was more of the same from the Chants, as they took eight shots to the Buccaneers three and out-shot CSU 15-6 for the contest.

Brooke Horist closed out the scoring in the 84th minute with a Kendall Parks assisted goal to provide the 3-0 final.

CCU keeper Rylee Atteberry picked up her third win on the season as she recorded two saves.

The Chanticleers will return to action in a double header on Friday, Sept. 1, at 5:00 p.m. as they will take on former Big South foe Winthrop followed by the men's team, who play UNC Greensboro, at 7:30 p.m.
