Women's Soccer Falls 2-1 in Exhibition Match Versus Charleston Southern

The Chants travel to Wake Forest for its finale exhibition match Saturday August 13th at 7 pm.

Charleston, S.C. - The Coastal Carolina women's soccer program dropped 2-1 versus Charleston Southern in its first exhibition match Thursday morning.

The Chanticleers utilized 26 players out of its 31 member roster versus the Bucs. Senior Becca Austin started in goal for Coastal while splitting time with sophomore Morgan Divine, who each suffered a goal against.

Daniella Famili led the way for the Chants with a total of six shots and three on frame. Famili had the lone goal of the match in the 80th minute off an assist from senior forward, Amber Adams.

Coastal outshot the Bucs 17-10 with seven different Chanticleers having one or more attempts. Brooke Horist fired three shots on goal while Kayla Christian added two efforts. Newcomers Alexis Siegel, Montana Hill and Ambria Shutts each recorded one or more shot with at least one attempt on frame.

The scrimmage is one of two the Chanticleers will have this season as CCU travels to Wake Forrest University this upcoming Saturday, August 13th with a 7 p.m. kickoff before Coastals season opener at Furman August 19th. Live stats for Coastal vs. Wake Forest will be available at goccusports.com.
