The Coastal Carolina women's soccer team opened its home schedule Sept. 15 with a match against The Citadel
2010: Started 11 games in the midfield and appeared in seven others... Started Big South Conference tilts against High Point, Liberty, Radford and UNC Asheville... Attempted seven shots with one being on goal... Played a season-high 79 minutes in a 1-1 double overtime draw against Francis Marion.
2009: Appeared in 17 games with three starts for the Chants... Started Big South Conference contests against High Point, Liberty and VMI... Attempted two shots on the year in games against High Point and Liberty.
2008: Appeared in eight games for the Chanticleers... Had two shot attempts on the year in wins over Wofford and Liberty... Missed five games from Oct. 14-Nov. 1 due to injury.
At Normal Community West HS: Was a two-time All-Big 12 Conference First Team selection at Normal Community West... Also was a two-time All-Intercity First Team selection... Helped the Wildcats to a third-place finish at the state tournament in 2008... Led the area in assists and helped Normal Community to a state tournament berth her junior year... Scored 16 goals her sophomore year, guiding Normal Community to a super-sectional appearance in 2006... Played club soccer for the Central Illinois Select for four years... Also played for the Kickers United Football Club, helping them to a second place finish at the U.S. Club Nationals in 2007 and the Illinois State Cup title in 2008... Was a varsity soccer scholar-athlete along with being on the National Honor Society and the Honor Roll... Was part of the Freshman Mentoring Program and was a Peer Mediator.
Personal: Full name: Jessica Renae Benchley... Daughter of Michael and Sheryl Benchley... Plans to major in biology at Coastal Carolina.
