Selvage Releases 2018 Lacrosse Schedule
CONWAY - The 2018 Coastal Carolina women's lacrosse schedule features 17 total matches, seven of which will be home games played at Brooks Stadium. Of the home contests, two will be played against ASUN opponents, Stetson and last year's conference champion and NCAA tournament participant Jacksonville. Detroit Mercy and Central Michigan will make their first trip to Conway.
The Chanticleers finished last season with a 13-5 record and was regular season champions by virtue of a 12-8 victory over ASUN tournament champions Jacksonville. The Chants lost nine seniors from last year's team and have added a talented group of 11 newcomers to the 2018 roster.
Coastal opens the 2018 season with five games on the road, the season opener February 24 against Louisville and close out the month on February 28 at former Big South opponent Campbell.
A road trip to Fairfax, Va. to take on George Mason (March 3) opens up the month of March. The Chants then travel to Baltimore, Md., to take on University of Maryland, Baltimore County on March 7, followed by a jaunt to Towson on March 10.
The Chanticleers will open the home portion with three home games against Winthrop March 13, Elon March 18, and Gardner Webb March 25.
Coastal Carolina will visit former ASUN associate member Delaware State on March 29, before opening the conference on the road in Washington, D.C. against Howard March 31.
Stetson (April 6) and Jacksonville (April 8) will return to Conway, before the Chants return to the road to take on Kennesaw State (April 13) and Mercer (April 15).
CCU will complete their home schedule with visits from former ASUN opponents Detroit Mercy, on April 19, and Central Michigan, on April 22.
The Chanticleers will close out the regular season on the road for the second straight season as they travel to Norfolk, Va., to take on Old Dominion, the only conference team to defeat them in the 2017 regular season.
