Coastal Carolina’s Crowther ASUN Lacrosse Player of the Week

LakePoint, Ga. - Coastal Carolina’s Sophie Crowther was named ASUN Conference lacrosse Player of the Week, for her performances against Kennesaw State (Friday, April 28) and Mercer (Sunday, April 30) and helping to clinch the ASUN regular season title.

Crowther tallied 11 goals, five ground balls, and seven draw controls to help the Chanticleers clinch their first ever conference title, regular season or tournament. In the game against Kennesaw State, Crowther scored a hat trick in each half for six goals on nine shots and scooped up five draw controls. Against Mercer, she scored the goal to tie it and start a four goal to one run to close out the first half.

The weekly award has been won by a Coastal Carolina player consecutively; the Chants swept the conference awards last week.

The Coastal Carolina lacrosse team will next be in action in the second round of the ASUN Championship, they will play the winner of the Old Dominion and Mercer match on Friday, May 5, at 1:00 p.m. scheduled opening draw.
