Coastal Carolina Lacrosse Sweeps ASUN Weekly Awards
LakePoint, Ga. - Coastal Carolina women’s lacrosse swept the ASUN Conference weekly awards for their performances against Jacksonville Dolphins (April 21) and Stetson Hatters (April 23). Keri White won her first ASUN Player of the Week and Harley Barrett won her second ASUN Defensive Player of the Week. Coastal was 2-0 on the week, highlighted by handing Jacksonville their first ever loss in ASUN play in the regular season. White tallied 10 points (six goals, four assists) for the week. In the Jacksonville game White scored the goal to knot the game at two, and assisted on the goal to give the Chants the lead. Against Stetson, White started the match with the first two goals of the day and picked up her third halfway through the second half to complete her second hat trick of the week. For the week, Barrett was 2-0, totaled 17 saves while giving up 13 goals, she had a .567 save percentage and a 6.50 goals against average. Barrett held the Dolphins, to half what they were averaging on the season, to eight goals and making 10 saves. Against the Hatters, Barrett allowed five goals and made seven saves. The Coastal Carolina lacrosse team will close out regular season play as it travels to Kennesaw, Ga. to take on Kennesaw State, on Friday, April 28 and then to Macon, Ga. to face Mercer, Sunday, April 30.
