Kimmy DeLonge Named Big South Freshman of the Week

DeLonge scored a career-high six points at Presbyterian, netting two goal and four assists.

Charlotte, N.C. - Freshman attacker Kimmy DeLonge of the Coastal Carolina women’s lacrosse team was named the Crons Brand Big South Conference Women’s Lacrosse Freshman of the Week, the league announced today. The honor marks the first of her career, and the third Freshman of the Week nod that the women’s lacrosse team has received this season.

DeLonge had a career-high six points against Presbyterian College with two goals and four assists in the Chanticleers’ 16-15 comeback win over the Blue Hose.  She assisted on two late goals that brought Coastal within one at 15-14, then netted the game-tying goal with 5:15 remaining.

DeLonge currently leads the team in assists with 11. She is also tied for second on the team in points with 21, and ranks sixth on the team in goals with 10.

The Chanticleers, currently 1-0 in Big South play, will face three conference opponents this week, traveling to High Point on Monday and Longwood on Friday before hosting Winthrop at Brooks Stadium on Sunday.
