CONWAY - As we count down to the inaugural game, each day GoCCUSports.com will profile the lighter side of Coastal Lacrosse. Today's student-athletes to be profiled are Kelsey Thurston and Paige Timberg.

#3 Kelsey Thurston

What is your personal goal for the inaugural season? My personal goal is to have more assists than goals. 

What got you started in lacrosse? My Dad introduced me to lacrosse. 

What is your major, and what are your plans after college? I am an exercise science major and I hope to go to physical therapy school after college to get my DPT. 

Where is your hometown? Blythewood, S.C. 

What’s your position responsible for on the field? As an attack player I am responsible for organizing the offense and feeding and/or scoring goals. 

How do you help the team stay focused during the season? I help them stay focused by reminding them that we are always working for a purpose. 

Who is your role model? Lance Armstrong. 

What is your biggest pet-peeve? My biggest pet-peeve is being late for anything. 

What is your favorite pre-game meal? My favorite pre-game meal is bowtie pasta with shredded parmesan cheese. 

Do you have any superstitions? I have to listen to the same pre-game playlist and lace up my cleats to a particular song. 

What is your favorite moment in your lacrosse career? My favorite moment of my lacrosse career was receiving the State Tournament and MVP Award. 

What’s your guilty pleasure music-wise? Country. 

If you could be an animal what would you be? If I could be an animal, I would be a dog. 

Why did you choose the number you wear? My Dad wore the number 3 throughout his lacrosse career and he passed it down to me. 

Why did you choose Coastal? Coastal is in a great location and I thought the campus was very nice and full of expansion. I also loved the vision both of my coaches had for the women’s lacrosse program.

What is your personal goal for the inaugural season? To be a leader on attack. 

What got you started in lacrosse? I hated softball and I’m not fast enough for track. 

What is your major, and what are your plans after college? Marketing major, my plans are to work with an athletic company marketing products.  

Where is your hometown? Lake Oswego, Ore. 

What’s your position responsible for on the field? Offensive leadership

How do you help the team stay focused during the season? Take it one game at a time.  

Who is your role model? My high school coach. 

What is your biggest pet-peeve? When people don’t like Beyonce. 

What is your favorite pre-game meal? Subway. 

Do you have any superstitions? Never split a pole, always lift your feet when going over train tracks, I always put my right sock and shoe on before my left, game day socks, always the same routine before games, look good feel good play good. 

What is your favorite moment in your lacrosse career? Winning back to back State Championships. 

What’s your guilty pleasure music-wise? Dancing music & Beyonce. 

If you could be an animal what would you be? A cheetah.  

Why did you choose the number you wear? #4 is in between #3 and #5 and those are my lucky numbers, so #4 is like a lucky number sandwich! 

Why did you choose Coastal? The Lacrosse program and location of the school.
