CONWAY - Members of the Coastal Carolina lacrosse team took a day to give back to the Grand Strand community on Saturday, spending the day volunteering with the Marion County chapter of Habitat for Humanity.

Chanticleers Kirsten Haines, Kelsey Thurston, Lily Yednock, Rachel Waldron, Austin Brown and Kayla Wynne along with head coach Jaime Sellers and assistant coach Christie Kaestner spent the day re-roofing a home in Marion. The Chants pulled the old, worn out shingles off the roof, laid down a new layer of roofing felt paper and applied new shingles.

The home is being renovated by Habitat for Humanity and will be sold to a deserving family later this year once all renovations and upgrades are complete.

The team opens its inaugural season on Friday, Feb. 15 at 3 p.m. against Cincinnati.
