Coastal Carolina Falls to Jacksonville in ASUN Championship

Jacksonville, Fla. - The Coastal Carolina women's lacrosse team fell to Jacksonville 11-10, Sunday afternoon, in Jacksonville, in the ASUN Conference Championship.

The first half closed with the score 6-3 in favor of the Chanticleers. Harley Barrett finished the first half with six saves.

Keri White (2 goals on the day) and Sophie Crowther (2 goals on the day) led the scoring for the Chants, Hannah Krin and Courtney Genovese each had a goal to pace the offensive attack in the first.

Jacksonville started the second half on a three goal streak knotting the match up at 6-6.

Maggie Carr (4 points on 1 goal, 3 assists) found the back of the net to retake the lead for Coastal at 7-6, with 19:30 left in regulation.

The Dolphins tied the game up at 7-7, with 21 seconds elapsing from the play-clock.

The Chanticleers took a two-goal lead when Krin (17:40) got her second goal on the day followed by Haley Alexander (15:00) finding an opening off the assist by Carr for the 9-7 lead.

Jacksonville then closed the game on a four goal to one run, with Genovese closed the scoring with 6:07 for the 11-10 final.
