Coastal Falls 15-3 to #10 Towson
Towson, Md. - The Coastal Carolina women's lacrosse team closed out its opening season road trip falling 15-3, to the 10th ranked Towson Tigers, Saturday afternoon at the Johnny Unitas Stadium in Towson. Coastal's record drops to 1-4, while the Tigers improved to 4-1.
Towson outshot the Chants 18-7 in the first half and finding the back of the net on nine of them for the 9-to-1 halftime lead.
The Tigers closed out the first half getting the last two goals to lead nine to one at the half.
Towson opened the second half getting two goals by Gabby Cha (2 goals) and Carly Tellekamp (3 goals) before Alexander scored her second of the day. Kaitlyn Montalbano (4 goals and 2 assists) and Natalie Sulmonte (2 goals and 1 assist) added two before Sophie Crowther found the back of the net with 12:13 left to play.
The Chants were outshot 27-14 with eight being on goal.
Coastal will return to action on Tuesday, March 13 at 7:00 p.m. to take on former Big South rival Winthrop in its home opener.
